It has to be the ultimate embarrassment for any celebrity - a magazine publishing photos BEFORE they've been airbrushed.
And that is precisely what happened to American reality star Kim Kardashian, who is famous across the pond for her curvy figure, a sex tape and a recent performance on the U.S version of Strictly, Dancing With The Stars.
The 28-year-old completed a shoot for Complex but was horrified to discover that its website carried the wrong picture, one that hadn't been touched up by the artists.
But instead of hiding away, she has come out fighting, saying: 'So what: I have a little cellulite. What curvy girl doesn't?' .
The magazine quickly pulled the pre-airbrushed shot and replaced it with the official retouched photo, but not fast enough to prevent it spreading across the internet.
But taking the mishap in her stride, the socialite wrote on her blog that retouching photos was commonplace in the world of celebrity. She said: 'How many people do you think are photoshopped? It happens all the time!
'At the same time as this Complex shoot, I was gearing up for my fitness DVD and you should see my thighs now!!! Haha!'
Kim, who is a close friend of Paris Hilton, starred alongside her family, including sisters Kourtney and Khloe, in hit U.S. reality TV show Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
The aspiring model and actress is usually not too camera-shy - and this isn't the first time unofficial material has circulated on the worldwide web.
In 2007 a sex tape that was made when Kim was dating R&B singer Ray J was leaked on the internet.
The celebutante added: 'This all motivates me to stay in the gym because my goal this year has been to get in better shape and tone up! Hard work pays off!
'I'm proud of my body and my curves and this picture coming out is probably helpful for everyone to see that just because I am on the cover of a magazine doesn't mean I'm perfect.'
Kim isn't the first celebrity to be photographed with no re-touching. In 2004, actress Jamie Lee Curtis famously posed without make-up and wearing just her underwear on the cover of a woman's magazine - refusing to let the magazine airbrush out any imperfections, saying she was happy to show off her 'fatty little tummy'.
