Marriage Benediction

May our marriage bring us all the fulfillment a marriage should bring and may the Lord give us patience, tolerance & understanding.

May it be full of joy and laughter as well as comfort and support.

May we discover the true depth of love through loving one another.

May we remember that every burden is easier to carry when we have the shoulders of two instead of one.

May we look to Jesus to refresh and strengthen us, when we are weary and discouraged.

May we always need one another, not so much to fill our emptiness as to help us to know our fullness.

May we rejoice in & praise one another's uniqueness, for God is the creator of both male & female and differences in personality.

May we be faithful to one another in our thoughts & deeds and above all be faithful to Jesus.

May we see the marriage bed as an altar of grace & pleasure.

May we remember that each time we speak to one another we are talking to someone that God has claimed & told,"You are very special."

May we view and treat our partner as one who was created in the image of God.

May we remember that we are not to hold each other captive but give each other freedom to become all that God wants us to be.

May we embrace & hold one another, but not encircle one another.

May God renew our minds so that we look to draw out the best & the potential in one another.

May we look for things to praise, never taking one another for granted, often saying, "I love you" and taking no notice of little faults.

May we affirm each other, defer to one another & believe in one another.

May we both have good sense enough to take the first step back, if we have differences that push us apart.

May the words," You're right", "Forgive me", and "I forgive you" be close at hand.

Thank you, Heavenly Father, for Your presence here with us and for Your blessings upon our marriage.
